ABOUT

We're two brothers, Richard and Mengistu, who were raised in Philadelphia. Mengistu was born in Liberia and came to this city when he was 7 years old. Richard was born and raised here in Philadelphia.

In December of 2016 Richard purchased a one (1) gallon homebrew kit from Northern Brewer. After a couple brews, we started brewing together in Mengistu's backyard and then Richard's kitchen. We slowly began to bring our beers to various events to share with friends and family. It wasn't long until we started to do pop up sampling events around the city to share our brews with strangers. This gave us the practice and critique we needed to perfect our craft. The more we got into the brewing industry, the more we realized the lack of black brewers and black owned breweries. It is our mission to bring the first black owned brewery to Philadelphia and show our community the opportunities available in the brewing industry.

We are in the process of building out our official home for Two Locals Brewing Company which will be located at 3675 Market St, in the uCity Square section of West Philly. Right now, you can find our beers in cans and draft at various local bottle shops, bars, and restaurants. If your business is looking to purchase Two Locals beer, please reach out to info@twolocalsbrewing.com and we can put you in contact with our distributor. Cheers!
